blog 2015/04/28 - another one sparks the rage
again and again: http://thetastates.com/mp3s/blog/blog20150428.zip
Christian Löffler - Nordkap
Christian Löffler - York: The new York EP gives us more slabs of the smooth bliss we desire so much!
Death Grips - Big Dipper
Death Grips - Inanimate Sensation
Death Grips - Pss Pss
Death Grips - Up My Sleeves: The Powers That B is exhausting. Listen to these tracks, 2 from each disc. ARE YOU NOT AMUSED? No. You are not amused, you are exhausted. You should have a nap.
Dream Beach - Missing Peace: GOOD MORNING, CUTIE!
Greys - Use Your Delusion: If Anything is from 2014 but this is all Seattle core 90s mess.
Son Lux - Among The Living
Son Lux - Give In And Give Out: HOLY SHIT NEW SON LUX EP!!!!!! Highly recommended.
Squarepusher - Baltang Ort
Squarepusher - Stor Eiglass: Have you been shrugging at the virtuoso bass solos of recent? Damogen Furies is an album that gets back to the IDM fury. The bass and drums are all skittery and intense and probably what you've been waiting for. Only thing missing? Perhaps some moments of reprieve and a bit more of a cooing seduction.
Sylvan Esso - Dress: OK final taste from the self-titled album from 2014. There is lots of really juicy bits on this album, so many nummy little bits. I'll go out on the limb: RECOMMENDED.
The Notwist - Close To The Glass
The Notwist - From One Wrong Place To The Next
The Notwist - Run Run Run: Close To The Glass has been a slow-burner for me, coming back to it once a month or so. It has the Acher percussion hallmarks, some great songwriting, and a cohesive feel that makes it really work as an album. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

blog 2015/04/14 - oh we're not having any of this
Wake up in the morning and feel like a monster: http://thetastates.com/mp3s/blog/blog20150414.zip
Algernon Doll - Candy Striped: Jangle indie rock from the new album Omphalic.
G-Eazy - Why Thank You: Feel good, laugh evil.
Howard Stelzer - Untitled (excerpt): droooooooooone from Brayton Point.
Hundred Waters - Down From the Rafters
Hundred Waters - Murmurs: While pretty darn pretty, The Moon Rang Like A Bell just didn't grab me as a whole. Something odd? The remix album works far better for me. Yeah, how often does that happen?
Ilhan Ersahin - Freedom: This one just stuns me. From the 2010 Istanbul Sessions.
Ingar Zach & Miguel Angel Tolosa - Astoneaged: New for 2015: Loner! God I love this album. If you like textural ambient ish, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Kendrick Lamar - Hood Politics
Kendrick Lamar - i
Kendrick Lamar - Institutionalized ft Bilal, Anna Wise & Snoop Dogg: Do I need to say much about To Pimp A Butterfly? Will probably ride in the top 5 hiphop albums of the year. It's pretty darn great.
Manic Focus - On the Horizon: Perfect little downtempo breaks package
Mighty Mouse - That Piano Track: Smiling rave mouth!
The Mountain Goats - Animal Mask
The Mountain Goats - The Legend of Chavo Guerrero
The Mountain Goats - Werewolf Gimmick: They said it couldn't be done, but goddamnit he did it. An entire album about wrestling, Beat The Champ fine J.D. in top form as a storyteller, jumping from the POV of classic wrestlers, back to himself and reflecting on his childhood relationships. Give this one a chance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Wuki - Talk: Fucking rave on you crazy diamonds.

MP3 blog 2015/04/09
blog 2015/04/09 - just a raucous extended mix for fart noises
This is not the discourse we want, but the discourse we deserve: http://thetastates.com/mp3s/blog/blog20150409.zip
Clark - Banjo
Clark - The Grit In The Pearl
Clark - Winter Linn: This is quality electronica like mama used to make. Stick to your bones classics, traditional goodness with years of experience behind it. Eat your fucking vegetables. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this self-titled album from 2014.
DoublePlusGood - Never The Same: I picture the singer dancing around with one of those super skinny Bob Barker kind of microphones and damn does he have moves in my head.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Piss Crowns Are Trebled: HOLLA! Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress is amazing. It's practically just an EP, but it is perfect in length and execution. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Hiss Golden Messenger - He Wrote the Book
Hiss Golden Messenger - Southern Grammar (Live at WXPN): Mmmm the new Southern Grammar EP is short and sweet.
King Capisce - Never Spoken: Now this I could do more of: post-rocky music that has the horns way way up in the mix ala Cinematic Orchestra. Fuck yes.
Leon Bridges - Coming Home (Early Mix): Oh now this is just everything right.
Merdarahta - Poverty Will Spread
Merdarahta - The Dark Clouds: Hoooooooly hell, As The Dark Clouds Swept Away We Could See The Sunset is AMAZING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Moxi - Hold Me: Well this might help with the comedown.
Quickie Mart x BJ So Cole - CashRules: BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY
The Good Husbands - Today ft Ryan Caraveo: Smooth and happy, this is like a sandwich on a balmy day.
Wild Beasts - Daughters
Wild Beasts - New Life
Wild Beasts - Past Perfect: I had never really been in to Wild Beasts before, but these tracks from the new record Present Tense catch enough of the magic I dig for to turn my head.

blog 2015/04/01 - oblivion
welcome to the fiscal: http://thetastates.com/mp3s/blog/blog20150401.zip
Brian Eno & Karl Hyde - A Man Wakes Up
Brian Eno & Karl Hyde - Celebration
Brian Eno & Karl Hyde - Daddy's Car: Someday World came out last year and my god what a great find. It's like a post-punk newwave album from the 80s that went in to hiding for a few decades and solely worked on training and refining itself. It is an absolute pleasure. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Deafheaven - From the Kettle Onto the Coil: Adult Swim singles program. Holy shit.
Dusky - Nobody Else: Always want that straight up deep house ish.
Elijah Ocean - Ride It Out: Sweet country folk from Bring It All In.
Elliphant ft Skrillex - Only Getting Younger (Milo & Otis Remix): Fiiiiiine just one little bit of skrillex I guess. We've deluted him though.
Iceage - Forever
Iceage - How Many
Iceage - On My Fingers: Plowing Into The Field of Love is my first deep listen in to Iceage and I am feeling about it the same way when I first heard Titus Andronicus' first two records. A voice that had so much personality and presence and uniqueness, I couldn't pull myself away. I am getting pulled in and it's great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Machinedrum - Flycatcha ft Body Language
Machinedrum - Sacred Frequency: Room(s) and Room(s) Extended, yo.
Phox - No Lion (Boom Forest cover): Oh god I love somber acapella folk.
Raleigh - Still Light: Sounds Canadian.
Rubblebucket - Sound Of Erasing (The M Machine Remix): I love everything about this: the vocal stylings, the beats, the mixing. So good.
Teach Me Equals - Coelacanth: This gets props just because COELACANTH IS THE COOLEST FISH THING EVER. Better than frilled sharks. Better than mermaids.
The Last 24 - Let Go: And away we go!
