Dance Mix 1992 baaaaayyyyybeeeee!

I am going to start posting up some albums that I digitize from various sources. Most of these will be oddball or experimental things, but let's get the ball rolling with a classic:

Dance Mix '92!

I first posted this to my MP3 blog (thus the odd filename in the link) but it absolutely warrants the heraldry involved in inaugurating my dump of rare albums.

Is this rare? Well, rare enough! Everyone who owned this assuredly played the shit out of the cassette, and if you were cool enough to have the tape it probably scratched to hell from DJing every hot elementary school party you were at.
Mind you, the "Dance mix" series were a Canadian phenomenon. See that logo in the upper left? That's Much Music. That's the Canadian version of the old MTV that used to play music videos.
So for any non-Canucks out there, this might be a something entirely new. Dizzingly new. Pure ambrosia of new. BUCKETS FULL OF WIN. DO YOU UNDERSTAND???

My rip here is from an old cassette tape loaned to me by a beautiful gay man who kept this treasure for 17 long years. Steven, my gratitude!

Classic cheeseball '92 party jams, get the goodness here!

  1. How do I say this? Um...thanks you.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

    No, wait.

I have the cassette of Dance Mix '92 but had no way to convert it. Thanks SOOOOO much for the upload.

    Oh, and thank you! :)

    Am I dreaming?! O_O

I have been googling this CD every so often for YEARS (as well as checking thrift store CD/cassette bins for it), but I've never been able to find it anywhere. All I had was a crappy copy of some of the songs on a mixtape so old it practically falls apart when I try to play it.

Thank you so so so very much! You WIN. <3

  3. I've just found a copy of the CD online. I'll happily rip it and post it for everyone to download once I receive it. I know the heartbreak of being unable to find this treasure online! LOL

Not to take away from the cassette rip. That still kicks royal ass! Just want to share my good fortune of finding the CD! :)

  4. Can you rip it in FLAC?

  5. The cassette rip is basically the greatest thing ever. I was very young, maybe 7 years old. It was the first tape of 90s music I had picked out (I wanted '93, but it was gone, and this ended up being amazing, along with '93 which I got later on CD)

These were better than every other dance/house/whatever compilations I got in the 90s. After 94, they wen't crap, but 91-94 made life good.

  6. yeah, srsly thanks this is bringing back some memories.

  7. Where are all you people arriving here from?

  8. Ahah, I left the last two comments. I just randomly google these classics every now and then to see if anyone is appreciating their glory.

  9. Finally got the CD today. Phew! Took long enough! Anyway, I now have it ripped into 17 320kbps tracks. I have uploaded them to Enjoy!

  10. I have been looking for this CD for years. You folks just MADE MY DAY! Thank you so, so, so much!!!

  11. I've ripped '92 in FLAC if anyone wants a lossless copy, my name is Stanzmastertron on Soulseek.

I'm buying Dance Mix '93 next and will do the same.

  12. hi!can i have Dance Mix '93?plsss
