MP3 blog 2011/08/25

blog 2011/08/25 - oh we're almost there!

Summer winds down!   The weekend approaches!  Time for one more quick update because I've discovered the world is filled with goodness!

Alexander Turnquist - Spherical Aberrations:  Hypnotoad wants YOU!

Analogmonks - Echoes of the Summer:  More new epic synthrock instrumenta action!

Apricot Rail - Surry Hills:  Oh what's that?  More gorgeous instrumental music?  Well you are very welcome indeed.

Babe Rainbow - Chains:  The instrumental glory continues with this amazing new tracks from the Endless Path EP.   Just synth and spooky vocal sample.

Baobinga & I.D - Want It:  OK, enough with the epic instrumentals, time for the dancey-pants instrumentals!

Class Actress - Keep You:  26.5 minutes in and still no pop lyrics?  Well here's Class Actress to clean things up and get you focused again.  From the new album Rapprocher.  Like a cross between Ladytron and Young Galaxy.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. - Morning Thought
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. - We Almost Lost Detroit:  It's A Corporate World has a number of super sweet tracks, more than enough to offset any speedbumps in the programming.

Exitmusic - The Sea:  Dark vocals that hint at Braids and Zola Jesus equally, from the new album From Silence.

Jay-Z & Kanye West - Otis:  Brand new single from the hot new collab album.  Of course you knew this was going to happen.

Knowing Looks - Abandoned Skip:  Hot steppa action!  Get yer hot steppa action here!  Extra clicks and wooshes!

Mondkopf - The Song Of Shadows:  The new album is Rising Doom and here we have a dense slab of churning beats with a high pitch sound that really reminds me of Digital Underground.

Nexus Petrol - Le Mantra Des Fourmis:  Finally, we are seeing the IDM and post-dubstep aesthetics merge in to a concrete whole.

Paul Simon - Rewrite
Paul Simon - The Afterlife:  First, let's remember this dude is probably in his 70s.  And he's amazing.  The album, So Beautiful Or So What, isn't a perfect gem, but there are more than a few glorious moments on it.  Primarily, Simon's ridiculous guitar playing.  Man can this guy pluck.

RÜFÜS - We Left (SymbolOne Remix):  Fabulous electro pop!

Rusko - Do You Wanna Have A Party
Rusko - Got You In Check:  And I'll leave you with some hot new partystep singles!

  1. I love your blog! I don't listen every week, but once a month or so when I'm itching for new music, I come over here to see your recs. You have really good, and very catholic tastes. One suggestion: it would be neat to release your playlists as Spotify playlists in addition to the zip file.

    Cool beans!!
