blog 2014/07/16 - so realistic you're not even knowing the difference

Charles Bradley - Crying in the Chapel
Charles Bradley - Dusty Blue
Charles Bradley - You Put the Flame On It: This old soul man is all right by me. It will be hard to find anyone who is not finding glorious moments on Victim of Love. Recommended
Explosions in the Sky & David Wingo - Dear Madison (Prince Avalanche OST)
Explosions in the Sky & David Wingo - Send Off (Prince Avalanche OST)
Explosions in the Sky & David Wingo - Wading (Prince Avalanche OST): I do this a lot: get the soundtrack with no intentions of ever seeing the movie. Great little pieces all over the lovely Prince Avalanche soundtrack.
John Zorn - Contes De Fees
John Zorn - Kol Nidre: This might be a bit much for some of you, BUT BEAR WITH ME. Zorn is back with another major CD of compositions for large ensemble, and the examples here aren't even the peak of the disc, which is a 20+ minute glorious track. Fragmentations, Prayers And Interjections might not be for everyone, but if you love contemporary ensemble music, it's really remarkable.
Sidi Touré - Maïmouna
Sidi Touré - Ni see ay ga done (It is to You That I Sing): Hot jams from Koïma! I always check out all of the Tourés, and this album is just OK, but I like these 2 a lot.
The Decemberists - One Engine: Another track from the curious little "The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 & Beyond" cash-in comp.
The Pastels - Secret Music: I was excited for the new album Slow Summits, but not much else on there really grabbed me.
Tom Waits - Shenandoah: A rare decent track from the curiously green-lighted comp "Son of Rogues Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys"
U.S. Girls - Don't Understand That Man
U.S. Girls - North on 45
U.S. Girls - Work from Home: I wasn't digging all of GEM, but loved a handful of tracks.
XV - Everyday Life: Love love the flow all on this one.
Zero 7 ft Only Girl - The Colour Of Spring: End it up with some blissful smoothness. Good night!
