Beth Malone - Telephone Wire (Fun Home OST):  Alison Bechdel's comic memoir Fun Home is one of the greatest graphic novels ever made.  I had the privilege of seeing Fun Home on Broadway, something that a decade ago we never would have thought would come about, but here it is, and it is genius.  Performed "in the round" with a high-tech stage that folds in and around itself with hidden lifts and set pieces on wheels, it is one of the best pieces of theatre I have ever been to.  While certainly the soundtrack is recommended, this work is far more than the songs.  Get to Broadway for it when you can.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.  at the very least, go read the book.

Dark Time Sunshine - Prairie Dog Day:  So when my daughter was born I missed a LOT of great music that year, including ANX, an amazing album from Dark Time Sunshine.  This album is so damn wonderful.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Hot Chip - Cry For You
Hot Chip - Dark Night
Hot Chip - Huarache Lights
Hot Chip - Why Make Sense:  Hot Chip have a great track record of making pretty damn amazing pop albums with staggering consistency.  Why Make Sense? contiues that trend, filled with masterful pop tracks.  These are my faves but there are a bunch more to discover.  A few skippers, but only a few, so still RECOMMENDED.

Kacy Hill - Foreign Fields:  I'm just here riding that subbass all damn day

Ms. John Soda - Hero Whales:  Lovely little songs from the new record Loom.

Sam Shelabi + Stefan Christoff - Vardar River Song:  Meditative beauty from the album Rodina.  RECOMMENDED

Shamir - Head In The Clouds
Shamir - Vegas:  Ratchet got some great reviews, but more me these were the two winners and I could pass the rest.
