Bonobo - The Keeper (Banks Remix): You'd be right to be sceptical. Remix albums are seldom a must-have, and are most often turid trudges through boilerplate reworks. But Black Sands Remixed bucks that trend. OK the remixes aren't ALL the best, but then there's the whole other disc of b-sides which are often as good or better than the main album's material! Seriously, there are so many winners on here. Recommended for anyone that loved Black Sands.
Burial - Stolen Dog: Sometimes Burial's mellow stuff is just too boring for me, but the plods in this one have a certain tenderness I can't escape.
Cloud Nothings - I'm Not Part Of Me: New Cloud Nothings! Can't wait to hear all of Here And Nowhere Else.
Da Poet - Other Side ft Ince Sarj: Like Toxic redux on the trap tip!

ReplyDeleteMassive thanks for these, BTW. I've been downloading sporadically for a few years, found some great stuff and been to gigs as a result. If I ever hear a song elsewhere that sounds familiar it often turns out to be from one of these. Hence the above comment...
That happens somewhat often! I have found about 6+ other instances where I have accidentally posted the same song again. I sift through a huge influx of music, and sometimes a song gets picked up again in my process.
